"Map to the Stars" Eddie was a resident of Los Angeles Island who sold interactive tours of Los Angeles.
Biography[]
Upon first encountering S.D. "Snake" Plissken, Eddie tried to sell Plissken one of his star maps.
Later, he gave Snake a ride in his car when Snake was fleeing from the Korean Dragons, but then betrayed Snake and shot him with a stun gun and took him to terrorist Cuervo Jones.
After Snake stole the Sword of Damocles remote from Cuervo and ran into a storm drain, Eddie followed him, shot him, and took back the device before bringing it back to Cuervo. Cuervo then sent Eddie to find Snake's body after Eddie told him that he killed Snake.
Later, Snake jumped on Eddie's car and the two engaged in a brief fight. Afterwards Eddie offered to take him to Hershe Las Palmas if Snake won't kill him. Eddie joined Snake, Hershe and the Saigon Shadows in their attack on Cuervo and the Mescalito Justice gang. Eddie also recommended "the old Texas switch" by making the real remote look like a fake. When Cuervo was distracted, Eddie tried to steal the remote for himself. Afterwards Snake got both remotes.
Eddie fled with Snake, Hershe, Utopia, and the surviving Saigon Shadows on the helicopter meant for Cuervo and shot Cuervo as he was trying to fire a rocket at the helicopter. Cuervo still managed to fire the rocket before he died, prompting Eddie to jump out of the helicopter before it was hit, landing on an awning. As he got to his feet, he saw the helicopter flying away and yelled, "Hey! Get back here, Plissken!"
Behind the scenes[]
In the original script, Eddie is shot dead by Cuervo after fatally shooting him. His body falls out of the helicopter and lands in the sea.
Portrayed by Steve Buscemi, Eddie serves as a supporting antagonist until he joins forces with Snake Plissken and becomes a supporting character.
